Welcome to the High Throughput Sequencing Facility

The High Throughput Sequencing Facility (HTSF) was established in 2008 to provide comprehensive library preparation services, next-generation sequencing, and alternative technologies to investigators. Genomics technology evolves quickly, but our mission remains the same: to apply cutting-edge high-throughput sequencing technology and expertise to advance medicine and basic biological research at The University of North Carolina. Located in the Genomic Sciences Building, the HTSF works directly with investigators to extract genetic and genomic data from a broad spectrum of biological materials to identify the causes of complex diseases and analyzes the complexities of diverse biological systems.

Services

HTSF offers a large number of services to assist with your genetic and genomic research. We can perform a wide selection of library preps, including bulk RNA, bulk DNA, Illumina single cell, and spatial. We also accept premade libraries and pools that can be sequenced on our short-read sequencing platforms (MiSeq i100, NextSeq 2000, T-7, and NovaSeq X), or long-read sequencing platform (Oxford Nanopore).

Our knowledgeable staff can help assist you with questions or troubleshooting. Please contact us for a free consultation and htsf@med.unc.edu.

Financial Support and Acknowledgement

We appreciate the opportunity to support your research. Please acknowledge the High Throughput Sequencing core in your publications. Your acknowledgement enables us to track successfully completed projects and obtain the financial support that we need to continue to offer essential services to our customers. The following language can be used:

High throughput sequencing was performed by the UNC Integrated Genomics Cores (RRID SCR_022620), which is supported in part by the School of Medicine Office of Research and funding from a Lineberger Cancer Center Support Grant (3P30CA016086-49S1) and the University Cancer Research Fund.
